  1. That letter is both sad and hilarious.

    Wow. That is just pitiful.

    • Especially as they can’t even spell “specific” correctly in their template!

  3. Hey, but I love (SPECIFIC ITEM)!

  4. Wow… Just… Wow…

  5. It’s sad to realize that United probably has the funds to afford a simple form letter program that requires simple input of data to then produce this letter instead of missing the brackets.

    OR

They don’t have people who know how to use CTRL+F to look for [.

  6. Someone’s gettin’ fired.

I have nightmares about doing this to our clients… hence why I proofread everything a BAJILLION TIMES before it goes out the door. Simple mistakes can make for the WORST consequences.

  7. That is – Thanks for sharing! Good laugh for sure.

A real appology is always better than a fake on. If they have a template appology letter, must mean that they have to send out a lot of appoligetic responses. Why don’t they improve their service then they won’t have to send out fake appology letters.

  10. How am I NOT surprised this was done by United… (If they’d invest a fraction of what they spend on aircraft & CEO promo videos into customer service training, word of mouth would be a lot more effective)
